These sculptures have been made from wattle and daub. The clay has been mixed with hair, hessian and string to make the daub and wire has been used for the wattle. Pigment from rivers and my allotment has been used to colour the sculptures. The process of preparing the material is important in this work as it includes digging and sourcing the clay, washing and sieving to make it usable as well as mixing, grinding and heating the pigment. When this is complete I can start to form the piece.
